Someone is sending childlike love letters to Lisa but her husband Lenny who sees them as more sinister secretly plans to find the writer and put a stop to it.

Lisa tells her father Harry about the letters, but she regrets confiding in him when Harry decides to ask his old army buddy ex Detective Chief Inspector John Semple for advice and a second clandestine search for the letter writer begins.

Lenny’s simple plan and Semple’s uncompromising methods set off a chain of events stretching loyalties inexorably and encompassing blackmail and murder. What is finally revealed would shatter everything once believed to be trustworthy and righteous.
